Lockdown fine issued as two people found in Northampton play area

A fixed penalty notice has been issued by Northamptonshire Police after someone was found to be breaking the lockdown rules.

Two people were found in a play area on Clickers Place in Upton last night (April 17).

The two PCSOs who discovered the rule breakers tried to advise them to leave and follow the rules.

However the words of advice were ignored and the a £60 fine was issued to one of the offenders.

Northampton Neighbourhood Policing Team took to social media to address the issue and warn others to stay at home.

The Facebook post said: "Whilst out on patrol in Upton last night PCSOs Shelton & Evans came across two persons in the Clickers Place playpark.

"Unfortunately repeated words of advice were completely ignored leaving us with no choice but to issue one of them with a Fixed Penalty Notice for breaching The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) Regulations 2020.
