A food manufacturer in Northampton has confirmed that a member of its staff has tested positive for coronavirus.

Greencore, based in Moulton Park, remains open for business after a deep clean ‘in the areas in which the colleague had been working’.

The company, which previously furloughed a number of employees, has told those who had came into contact with the colleague who tested positive to self-isolate, as well as advising anyone who has symptoms to register for a test.

A spokesman for the Greencore said: “We can confirm that a colleague at our Northampton site has tested positive for COVID-19.

“As a result, we immediately contact traced everyone who has recently come into contact with the colleague and they are now also self-isolating as a precautionary measure.

“In line with government guidance, we have also advised all colleagues at the site to register for a test if they are experiencing any symptoms.

“In addition, we have carried out a deep clean of all of the areas in which the colleague had been working.

“We have a range of self-distancing measures in place within our facilities, and are doing everything that we can to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our employees.”
