Amazon has insisted it is following all Government guidance surrounding coronavirus at its Daventry warehouse after concerns were raised by workers.

An employee at the Royal Oak Industrial Estate distribution centre contacted this newspaper to complain about people going into quarantine, a lack of communication and lockers being too close together.

An Amazon spokesperson said there are no known cases of Covid-19 at the site but a new space is being made for lockers.

The worker, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "There have been many things which have changed lately.

"There are lots of sanitiser points available, we have to stay a safe distance in the canteen and no meetings are allowed anymore to avoid big crowds. But many things have been neglected.

"Our lockers are still next to one another and there are at least three cases of people in quarantine.

"We all had recently contact with this people and nobody has mentioned the problem.

"Managers are not talking about cases of Covid-19 in our warehouse and we are concerned about it. Many people are resting at home because of this."

The Amazon spokesperson said employees at the Daventry 'fulfillment centre' have been asked to remove the items from their lockers so they can be moved to the new space.

They added that they are supporting those who are self-isolating but could give no further details on cases.
