A Northampton-based shoe company has donated nearly 100 pairs of shoes to nurses at Northampton General Hospital to show its support for those on the frontline of the fight against COVID-19.

The team at 'Its Got Soul' dropped off 88 pairs of shoes on May 4 to the nurses at NGH to help healthcare workers manage their clothing when leaving infected areas.

The Northampton firm said they saw it as an opportunity to provide female frontline workers with a free pair of shoes to wear at work or in their daily lives.

Teresa O’Driscoll, owner of Its Got Soul, said: “We are very proud to have donated shoes to the nurses working at Northampton General Hospital.

"This is a cause close to our hearts, with family members and friends working at hospitals and care homes across the country. We are humbled by their incredible work and the tireless hours they are devoting to keeping the nation safe.

"The shoes we have donated are some of the first designs we released as a brand. These were created with input from the School of Podiatry in Northampton, making them supportive and durable enough for busy frontline workers, who are on their feet all day."

Its Got Soul is also donating 10 per cent of the price of all shoes bought from its website to the NHS Charities Together appeal.
