Concert to celebrate Northamptonshire woman’s 25 years after life-saving heart and lung transplant

A Northamptonshire family is inviting people to a special charity concert celebrating the 25th anniversary of their daughter’s life-saving heart and lung transplant.

Natasha Rogers will mark the milestone on June 26, 25 years after receiving the transplant that transformed her life. Her family says the anniversary would not have been possible without a donor family agreeing to organ donation during a difficult time.

To celebrate the occasion and raise money for the transplant ward at Harefield Hospital, Natasha’s parents, Ann and Graham Rogers, are organising a concert at the Salvation Army Hall in Salem Lane, Wellingborough, on June 27 at 7pm.

The event will feature the Ynysowen Male Choir, which was formed following the Aberfan disaster in 1966. The choir was established by men who had lost loved ones in the tragedy and wanted to support worthwhile causes through music.

Also performing will be soprano singer-songwriter Emma Davis, a former soloist with the Salvation Army’s International Staff Songsters.

The evening will be compered by BBC Radio Northampton presenter Martin Heath.

Graham Rogers said the family wanted to celebrate Natasha’s achievement while also giving something back to Harefield Hospital, which has cared for her over the years.

Tickets cost £10 and organisers hope to attract a full house to help raise funds for the hospital’s transplant ward.

The family said the concert will offer “excellent music for all tastes” while supporting a cause that remains close to their hearts.
