Windermere Day Nursery team take on Peak District charity challenge
Embarking on the seven-mile round climb up Kinder Scout, which sits at 636 metres above sea level, the eight-strong team of colleagues consisting of Katie Waterfield, Hayley Kernick, Toyah Causeway, Wendy Adams, Clare Simson, Hollie McDonald, Sian Kenny and Katie Batchelor were able to raise a grand total of £830.00 for their efforts, which will now go towards funding research into congenital heart disease, affecting around 13 babies born in the UK each day.
Throughout September, Windemere Day Nursery and the 43 other Childbase Partnership settings raised a collective total of £36,600.00 for the British Heart Foundation, who they are supporting as their ‘Charity of the Year’ with a focus on fundraising and a special ‘35k Step Challenge’ initiative to mark 35 years since the childcare company was founded.
