A group of teachers from a Northamptonshire primary school have recorded a version of High School Musical hit.

Staff at Helmdon Primary School, near Brackley, donned fancy dress costumes and sang their hearts out to ‘We’re All In This Together’ to send a powerful message to their students.

The four-minute video was the brainchild of year five teacher Mrs Harvey and teaching assistant Mrs Leitelmayer.

They organised the piece, which was sent out to all students while the school is only open for the children of key workers and those considered vulnerable.

Head teacher Mrs Zdyrko said: “The most important outcome from this lockdown is that all our pupils remain safe, happy and confident.

“Whilst we continue to support them with their home learning, these are extraordinary times and extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures, hence our video.

“This is an opportunity for the children to see their formidable Year 6 teacher, the amazing Mrs Pearson, donning a variety of comedy hats mid solo, and Year 3’s Mrs Jenkins dressed in her best pink boa busting some very accomplished dance moves accompanied by Mrs Bartlett (Year 1) as Banana Man!

“We hope this sends a loud and clear message to all our wonderful children: ‘we’re all in this together’.”
