Head of rugby at the Northampton college, Phil Powell, said: “We’re always striving to provide the best opportunities for our academy players, and this partnership further supports this goal.

"Our Rugby Academy students will access a 16-23 pathway into elite rugby which is a fantastic opportunity.

"We’re already working to support the development of future Coventry players with multiple Moulton students receiving academy contracts.

"Working with the club more closely will only strengthen our existing relationship.”

Coventry players will also benefit of high-quality teaching and facilities at the college and academy manager Ross Stewart is looking forward to reaping the rewards.

“I’ve worked with Moulton College for a number of years so know all about the facilities they have and the quality of players they can produce," he said.

"We enjoyed having Moulton players represent the Coventry under 18s last season and they showed that they deserve to have these kinds of opportunities.”
