Northampton Town and Northampton High School extend partnership for another five years

Northampton Town and Northampton High School GDST have extended their partnership with a new five-year agreement.

The renewed deal will see the Cobblers continue working with the school to provide pupils with a range of football, coaching and leadership opportunities, building on a collaboration that began in 2024.

Since the partnership was launched, pupils have taken part in weekly coaching sessions delivered by Northampton Town coaches, gained access to the Sports Leader programme, enjoyed female football enrichment days and benefited from talent identification opportunities linked to the club's emerging talent pathway. The partnership has also included matchday experiences and closer links with Northampton Town Women.

The new agreement will ensure those opportunities continue over the next five years while strengthening the relationship between the two organisations.

Dr May Lee, headteacher at Northampton High School GDST, said the school was delighted to extend its partnership with Northampton Town.

She said the collaboration had already created valuable opportunities for pupils, helping them develop their footballing ability, confidence and leadership skills, while encouraging more girls to become involved in the sport.

Dr Lee added that working alongside the football club had enriched the school's sporting provision and opened exciting pathways for students, and said she was looking forward to building on the partnership over the coming years.

Northampton Town also welcomed the extension.

The club said continuing to work with Northampton High would help strengthen its links with the local community while providing more young people with opportunities to develop their football skills and experience the women's game.

The partnership forms part of Northampton High's wider commitment to expanding sporting opportunities for pupils and inspiring the next generation of female footballers through coaching, leadership programmes and access to professional role models.
