A new primary school will be opening in Northampton next year, with places for 60 children in reception initially.

Buckton Fields Primary School will welcome its first cohort of pupils in September 2021 as building work has started at the development near Boughton.

A Preston Hedge’s Academy Trust spokesman said: "We are very much looking forward to working with the new community of Buckton Fields; to deliver exceptional school experiences for the local children and their families.

"The new school will be founded on the trust’s key ethos of 'fun, creativity and achievement', whilst having its own unique curriculum, values and leadership."

The school will feature a dedicated classroom for food and design technology and science, state-of-the-art IT, including an 'IT cafe' where pupils can do homework, and drones for the children to use.

As well as a bespoke outdoor space for reception children, a multi-use games area and two halls with the latest technology plus a breakfast and after-school club.
