New executive headteacher appointed to lead five Northamptonshire village schools

A new executive headteacher has been appointed to lead a federation of five Northamptonshire village schools.

Stuart Guest has taken charge of The Forest Federation of Schools, which includes schools serving Gayton, Stoke Bruerne, Tiffield, Whittlebury and Yardley Gobion.

He joins the federation from Colebourne Primary School in Birmingham, where he was headteacher for almost 20 years.

The federation said he had built a strong reputation for raising outcomes for children, developing staff teams and creating inclusive school communities.

Mr Guest succeeds Eliza Hollis, who has retired after nearly 20 years developing and leading the federation.

Speaking about his appointment, Mr Guest said it was a “genuine privilege” to be joining the schools.

He said: “From my first conversations with governors, leaders and staff, I have been impressed by the warmth, ambition and commitment that exists across the Federation.

“I am excited to be working alongside our dedicated staff, wonderful children, supportive families and governors to build on the many strengths that already exist.

“I believe that every child deserves an exceptional education which meets their individual needs, where they feel a sense of belonging and are surrounded by adults who believe in them.”

Daniel Lister, chair of governors, said Mr Guest’s experience, passion for education and leadership made him an “outstanding appointment”.

He added: “We are confident he will lead the Federation with integrity, vision and a relentless focus on ensuring the best possible opportunities for every child.”

Families interested in the federation are also being invited to arrange visits to its schools.
