Eastfield Academy helps Northampton Bloom to Silver Gilt success

Pupils and staff from Eastfield Academy proudly represented their school and community at Northampton Council’s “Northampton in Bloom” event on Thursday, October 23.
The annual initiative brings together schools, community groups, and local residents to celebrate the town’s shared commitment to creating a cleaner, greener, and more vibrant Northampton. This year’s hard work paid off, as Northampton was awarded a Silver Gilt in the prestigious East Midlands in Bloom competition.
Eastfield Academy pupils along with Miss Geller and Mrs Gray took part by helping to plant and care for flowers in the local area, contributing their creativity and enthusiasm to brighten public spaces. The Gardening Club also planted and grew their own fruits and vegetables; these were then handed out to parents. Their dedication impressed judges and visitors alike.
Mrs Moore and Mrs Russell (Assistant Principals at Eastfield Academy), said: “We’re incredibly proud of our pupils for getting involved in such a meaningful community project. They’ve learned the importance of teamwork, sustainability, and pride in their local area and town and to see Northampton achieve Silver Gilt makes all their efforts worthwhile.”

The school’s participation is part of its ongoing commitment to environmental education and community engagement. The children are already looking forward to next year’s competition and hope to help Northampton go for Gold!
