William Tarry House and StepDown celebrate the launch of Waythrough

The UK’s biggest charity merger!

Willim Tarry House is holding a special event to celebrate the official launch of our newly merged charity, Waythrough. The new organisation combines the expertise and resources of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship, two national charities that share values, ambitions and decades of experience supporting people with substance use, mental health, housing and associated needs.

The charity’s vision is ‘to break down the barriers that stop people getting the support they need to live a life they value’ by offering a single point of access for mental health, alcohol and substance use and homelessness services.

William Tarry House is celebrating the public launch with an event on Tuesday 22nd October 2pm-5pm at The Director’s Lounge, Saints Stadium, Wooton Road, Northampton, with special guests – Mayor Councillor Paul Joyce - and Catherine Joy White, writer, actor, gender activist and ambassador for PAPYRUS, the UK national charity for the prevention of youth suicide. Our Senior Service Manager – Tania Laurence – will share a short presentation sharing our new identity and mission, and an opportunity to hear about the future impact of the merger on the people we support.

Introducing the new charity, Waythrough CEO Paul Townsley stated:

“For many years it’s been clear that addressing drug and alcohol, housing and mental health support as separate issues ignores the reality and complexity of peoples’ lives, and that a holistic approach is needed. This is why I’m excited about the launch of Waythrough and our ambitions for the future.
