Reclaim the Night with members of Towcester Evening WI
Four Members of Towcester Evening WI took to the streets of Northampton last week to raise awareness, through their collective voices, against sexual violence and harassment in a public place.
ExCo
WI members were proud to show their solidarity and support for women everywhere as part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (an annual global campaign) with a march to Reclaim the Night.
Songs, chants, drumming and speeches all added to a great march for a very important issue for us all – women should feel safe to walk home in a public place wherever they live.

Following on from the march the Angiolini Inquiry Part 2 First Report: Prevention of sexually motivated crimes against women in public was published this week. This looked to establish the risk of recurrence across policing, to investigate police culture, and to address the broader concerns surrounding women’s safety in public spaces.
