£260k fund to boost charities and volunteers across West Northamptonshire
Charities, social enterprises and community groups across West Northamptonshire are set to benefit from a £260,000 investment aimed at boosting skills, volunteering and access to funding.
West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) is inviting Expressions of Interest from voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations to deliver a new Local Infrastructure Organisation (LIO) grant. The single organisation or consortium appointed will provide targeted capacity building – especially for small and micro groups and those in priority Local Area Partnership (LAP) neighbourhoods.
The programme will strengthen governance, safeguarding, finance and HR; improve fundraising and bid‑readiness; deliver workforce development including trauma‑informed practice; and broker volunteers and trustees. It will also support early‑help and prevention work aligned to WNC’s Prevention Strategy and amplify VCFSE representation in local decision‑making.
Councillor Charlie Hastie, cabinet member for housing and communities, said the fund “invests in the organisations that power local good”, helping groups grow skills and secure funding.
Further details and criteria are on the Community Funding Grants Framework on the WNC website. Expressions of interest must be submitted by 10am on Wednesday May 13, 2026. Email [email protected] for information or an application form.
