Park swim returns to Daventry Country Park with new lake access ramp

Open water swimmers will soon be diving back in as Parkswim Daventry 2026 returns to Daventry Country Park this spring, with bookings now open for the first session on Sunday 5 April.
The popular community swimming event will mark the start of the new season with two morning sessions running from 8–9am and 9–10am, welcoming swimmers of all abilities back to the park’s lake.
This year’s opening is set to be even more accessible thanks to the installation of a new lake ramp entry, designed to make it easier and safer for swimmers to enter and exit the water. Organisers say the ramp will particularly benefit beginners, cold-water swimmers and those who prefer a steadier entry into the lake.
Open water swimming has grown rapidly in popularity across Northamptonshire in recent years, and the Daventry sessions have become a regular fixture for many swimmers looking for a friendly and supportive environment.

Participants are required to book in advance, and organisers recommend that places are secured early as the first swim of the season is expected to fill up quickly.
The Easter Sunday opening is expected to draw both regular swimmers and newcomers keen to experience the health and wellbeing benefits associated with cold-water swimming.
Becki McNevin committee member says we’re all looking forward to welcoming the community back to the water for another season at the scenic lakeside setting of Daventry Country Park.
