Residents and staff at Brampton View Care Home in Northampton were transported back in time, as the home’s reception was transformed into a traditional, old-fashioned sweet shop.

The visit from Rebecca of Sweet Memories of Hadleigh, brought the authentic sights, smells, and tastes of a classic confectionery to the Northampton-based home. The stall featured an extensive selection of everlasting favourites, which were sold by the quarter and meticulously weighed out using traditional scales.

The nostalgic experience sparked wonderful conversations among the residents, many of whom shared stories of their childhood visits to local tuck shops. From pear drops and lemon sherbets to midget gems, the variety on offer provided a sensory journey through the past.

Elina House, General Manager at Brampton View, commented on the event "The atmosphere in our reception area was absolutely magical. Seeing the sheer delight and the beaming smiles on the faces of our residents, visitors, and staff said it all. It wasn't just about the sweets; it was about the memories those flavours unlocked. Rebecca provided a truly person-centred experience that our community will be talking about for weeks to come."
