Northampton welcomes new Bhangra fitness classes as community charity drive continues
A vibrant new Bhangra fitness class is launching in Northampton this month, bringing high-energy Punjabi dance, community spirit and charitable giving to Hardingstone.
Northampton Bhangra Classes – an offshoot of Leicester Bhangra Classes, which began in 2015 and has steadily expanded across the Midlands, adding Kettering, Coventry , Bedford, Nottingham, Wolverhampton and now Northampton.

The sessions, suitable for all ages and abilities, blend traditional Bhangra steps and music with a fitness focus. Organisers say the classes are designed to be welcoming for beginners while still offering a workout for more experienced dancers.
Manager Aman Kaur said the group places community work at the heart of its mission.
“Our classes attract a diverse range of students, and we are committed to building a strong community,” she said. “We participate in monthly charity work and encourage our students to suggest charities that are meaningful to them.”
In 2025, the organisation raised £59,903 for charities including Khalsa Aid, Red Nose Day and Mind, and more fundraising events are planned for this year.
The Northampton sessions begin on Monday 20/04/2026 and will run every Monday from 7pm to 8pm at Northampton High School, Hardingstone. Each hour-long class promises an energetic mix of dance and fitness suitable for all fitness levels.
Student feedback highlights the welcoming atmosphere. One attendee said: “KBC is awesome. Nothing matches the energy there. No matter how stressed or bummed out you feel, the community at KBC will know how to cheer you up. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Whether you are a beginner or advanced, there is always a place for you here at KBC.”
