Northampton Town Mayor visits Kingsley Park Terrace to judge Christmas spirit

Local business of Kingsley and Links View were delighted to receive a 5ft fresh Norwegian Spruce tree to display in their shops with thanks to a community initiative led by the Markie Prendiville and the Kingsley and Links View Residents Association, with the support of local councillor Farzana Aldridge.

These trees were given to local independent shops along the Kingsley front ready to bring Christmas some cheer to Kingsley Park Terrace.

Kingsley Park Terrace currently does not display any Christmas lights supplied by West Northants Council unlike the surrounding main roads like the Wellingborough Road.

The local community are very proud of their area and deserves to be celebrated. The Kingsley & Links View Residents Association applied for funding from Northampton Town Council which enabled the association to purchase the Christmas trees locally from Stoke Goldington Farm who were happy to support our cause with a reduced price on the trees.

The Old Bank held a community Christmas Carol concert in the afternoon and provided complimentary hot chocolate & mince piesto set the festive mood.

The Mayor, Jane Birch scrutinised every tree along Kingsley Park Terrace and had a very special system to judge these, after a very cold walk about at 6pm she retuned to The Old Bank with her clip board and made her decision being joint winners Heathers coffee shop and Right Vape Kingsley, both for personalised decorations and attention to detail.

This is a community project and has brought neighbours together to support local businesses, and add a warm and joyful atmosphere in the run-up to Christmas.
