Northampton Sea Cadets on top again

Last weekend saw Northampton Sea Cadets top the lot being the awarded the Stevenson Trophy and named the Best Sea Cadet Unit in Eastern Area.
This is an annual award that puts the winners in the National award, the Canada Trophy, and named the best in the UK. Northampton Sea Cadets are currently placed second in the country having received the Thomas Grey Memorial Shield last year. Along with the Stephenson Trophy, they were also awarded the Ben Line Cup for Training and Participation and the David Gay Trophy for sailing and windsurfing.
S/Lt Sam Green, the commanding officer said, "It is an honour for the Unit to be recognised in this way. We are all volunteers and this is a team effort and a massive thumbs up to the instructional team. The cadets are a fantastic group of young people and really work hard to do their very best to go above and beyond. We are looking forward to the longer days when we are able to get back onto the river and practice our water skills."
This isn't the first time Northampton Sea Cadets have been at the top, winning the Canada Trophy in 2004 and 2010 which considering how far we are from the sea, is quite an accomplishment.
Northampton Sea Cadets is a youth group for young people aged 10 to 18. We are always looking for people to help out and volunteer some of their valuable time.
