NMPAT County Youth Brass Band perform in the Music for Youth Proms at the Royal Albert Hall

ON Monday, November 10, young musicians from Northamptonshire took to the stage at the Royal Albert Hall, London, to perform in the Music for Youth School Proms.
Thirty-six young musicians, ages 15 - 19 years, under the direction of Iain McKnight, performed The Dark Side of the Moon, by Paul Lovatt-Cooper, to an audience of thousands.
The NMPAT Northamptonshire County Youth Brass Band is regarded as one of the leading youth ensembles, of its type, in the UK. Students gain a place in the band through an annual audition; this year's group contains students from throughout the county.
The band is one of 26 ensembles which rehearse weekly during term time, at Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust's Kettering Road Music and Arts Centre, in Northampton. CYBB is an active and busy ensemble, giving at least six performances each academic year.

The band are regular participants in the Music for Youth Regional National Festivals, as well as the National Youth Brass Band Championships. Alongside NMPAT's Concert Band, the band tours abroad every two years, most recently this summer, when they enjoyed a four concert trip to Germany.
