New membership launches to support the next generation of pet care professionals

The Animal Focused Alliance, works with pet professionals across the UK, has announced the introductionof a Graduate Membership aimed at individuals who have recently completed recognised animal-related qualifications and are beginning their careers in pet care.

The new membership has been developed to recognise the commitment involved in completing Ofqual-regulated trainingin areas such as dog grooming, training and behavioural support and other pet services. Membership provides structured professional support at a stage when many are setting up businesses or entering the sector for the first time.

Graduate Members receive access to the Alliance’s guidance, resources and sector updates, alongside a discounted first year of membership based on qualification level. Discounts range from 10% for Level 2 qualifications up to 30% for Level 4 and above, reflecting the depth of training completed.

Vicky Skinner, founder of the Animal Focused Alliance, said: “Northamptonshire is home to many small pet businesses and professionals who care deeply about animal welfare. Completing a recognised qualification is a major achievement, but new professionals often need support to navigate regulation, best practice and the realities of running a business. This membership is about recognising that commitment and helping people start their careers on the right footing.”

The Animal Focused Alliance works with pet professionals to promote welfare-led, responsible practice, providing clear guidance on industry standards, regulation and professional expectations.

By supporting newly qualified professionals at the start of their careers, the Vicky says the initiative will help strengthen public confidence in pet care services and contribute to higher standards across the sector, both locally and nationally.
