How one woman's award-winning Northamptonshire Slimming World groups lost more than 15,000 pounds in 2025

Teresa Seaton from Burton Latimer has helped transformed 290 lives in 2025 through her award-winning Slimming World groups in Kettering and Burton Latimer. Her members have collectively lost an incredible 1,103 stone/15,451 pounds – equivalent to the weight of 110 washing machines to put that in perspective!

But for Teresa, the numbers that matter most aren't pounds lost, they're lives changed.

From rock bottom to running marathons

Teresa's own journey began at her lowest point. After a freak accident left her unable to walk for two years, her weight spiralled. "I wouldn't leave my house. I was embarrassed and anxious," she recalls.

The turning point came when her back gave out and paramedics struggled to lift her: "Seeing my children's terrified faces, that was my wake-up call."

Three years after losing over 12 stone and running mini-marathons in her spare time, Teresa became a Slimming World consultant. In 2024, she won Up and Coming Consultant of the Year, and her groups have earned four Prestigious Diamond and eight Glorious Gold awards. She was also nominated in 2025 as a Group of the Year finalist out of almost 5000 groups in the UK.

"With every person who walks through the door, there's a defining moment like I had, that leads them to want real change. Something just clicks."

Real transformations in Northamptonshire

The life changes Teresa witnesses go far beyond the scales. Four women in her groups fell pregnant in 2025 after years of trying. Members have reversed type 2 diabetes without medication. Others have finally qualified for life-changing operations.

Anna and Gary's second chance

For a Finedon couple Anna and Gary Dillon, Slimming World gave them their lives back after devastating health diagnoses. Anna was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020 and underwent chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, and radiotherapy. But when her weight climbed due to medication, doctors told her she couldn't have reconstruction surgery until she lost 3.5 stone.

"I felt hopeless and miserable. It was two steps forward, one step back," Anna recalls.

When Gary was then diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2023, their GP recommended they join Slimming World together.

By July 2025—just 10 months after joining Teresa's group, Gary had lost 5.7 stone and Anna 4.4 stone. Perfect timing to renew their vows for their 25th wedding anniversary.

"My sugar levels are back to normal and I'm hoping to come off medication completely," Gary says. "And Anna has been accepted for her reconstructive surgery in early 2026."

Why Teresa's groups work

Teresa's approach is hands-on. She contacts every single one of her 290 members after each session, whether they've lost, maintained, or gained weight.

"Communication is everything. No one should feel alone in this journey," she explains. "There's no judgment here—EVER. Complete strangers become a family supporting each other through every tear, laugh, and celebration."

The results speak for themselves: as well as a total loss of 15,451 pounds in 2025, over a quarter of her members have reached their target weight, are close to their goal, or have lost 10% of their body weight—the threshold where major health improvements begin.

Looking ahead to 2026

"It extends far beyond the number on the scales," Teresa reflects. "I'm thrilled to be part of Slimming World, playing a part in changing lives in Kettering and Burton Latimer. I look forward to growing our community in 2026 and helping more people achieve their health goals. It all starts with walking through the door where a warm welcome awaits."
