A regional housebuilder has marked the end of a full year of staff fundraising across the region, raising a staggering £55,314.

Colleagues at Persimmon Homes Midlands have spent 2025 organising various charity events to raise funds for Coppafeel! – a charity who is on a mission to get every 18-24 year olds checking their chest. CoppaFeel! educates people on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, and encourages them to check their chests monthly, so that if they notice something unusual, they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves. This is because when breast cancer is diagnosed early, treatments are more effective, and survival rates are higher.

The charity was selected by staff at the Northampton based office following their support for a colleague currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

Charlotte Chapman, an Assistant Accountant at Persimmon Homes, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2024. Charlotte is just 29 years old and was diagnosed with Grade 3 triple negative breast cancer and her treatment plan includes chemotherapy followed by surgery, radiotherapy and is now on further Chemo for the year.

Commenting on the fundraising efforts, Zac Hurst Regional Managing Director at Persimmon Homes Midlands said: “Since her diagnosis, Charlotte has remained positive even in the darkest of times and is such an inspiration to us all. She’s very passionate about spreading awareness to all genders and in particular young people, to ensure they know the importance of checking themselves regularly and how to do this in the hope of catching early to prevent the likelihood of having to go through what she and so many others are. We were only too happy to get involved in this event and raise much needed funds for CoppaFeel!”

Charlotte Chapman said: “I have been amazed by my colleagues’ support and really grateful for their efforts to raise funds for CoppaFeel! who do amazing work.”

Simon Hetherington Rea from CoppaFeel! Said: "At CoppaFeel! we've been absolutely blown away by Charlotte, Zac and the Persimmon team's incredible fundraising activity this year. With bake sales, dress down Fridays, the Wolf Run and the enormously successful Golf Day, Persimmon have truly rallied for breast cancer awareness throughout 2025. £55,314 is a phenomenal total and will be hugely impactful in helping us to spread our chest-checking message across the UK! All of us at CoppaFeel! are so extremely grateful for the team's dedication to helping all breast cancers in young people to be diagnosed early and accurately."

Charities and community groups can also apply to Persimmon’s Community Champions initiative, which donates up to £6,000 every quarter to organisations in the region. More information is available at www.persimmonhomes.com/community-champions
