Fulfilment centre fancy dress and school workshops help Amazon back Red Nose Day

The Amazon team in Daventry has been taking part in a host of entertaining activities both on site and off to raise vital funds and awareness for Comic Relief, helping to raise more than £2m in support of this year’s Red Nose Day.

Amazon is the official Home of the Red Nose and a proud partner of Comic Relief, a charity dedicated to fighting poverty, injustice, conflict, and the effects of climate change both in the UK and internationally.

Employees at the fulfilment centre in Daventry threw themselves into a week of fundraising events, including fancy dress, playing games, and delivering red nose design workshops in local schools, all with the goal of supporting Comic Relief’s ongoing work.

A team of volunteers attended St James’ Infant School in Daventry to engage with pupils through games and arts and crafts, designing their own red noses to mark the occasion.

Reflecting on the team’s efforts, Alex Barrett, site leader at Amazon in Daventry, said: “Our team puts a lot of heart into everything we do, and supporting Comic Relief is no different. From getting Red Noses out to our customers to joining in with the fun here on site, it was a brilliant week - and all for an incredibly worthy cause.”

Valentin Lungu, an Amazon employee in Daventry who participated in the week’s events, said: “There’s nothing quite like bringing the whole team together for a good cause - and Red Nose Day always delivers on that front. Whether it was arts and crafts, playing games, or everything in between, we gave it our all and had a brilliant time doing it.”
