As families look ahead to February Half Term after what has felt like constant rain since Christmas, Mini Meadows Farm is preparing to welcome visitors with a warm, dry and wonderfully spring-like experience, including the launch of its brand new indoor ‘Chick Cheep and Greet’ area.
As families look ahead to February Half Term after what has felt like constant rain since Christmas, Mini Meadows Farm is preparing to welcome visitors with a warm, dry and wonderfully spring-like experience, including the launch of its brand new indoor ‘Chick Cheep and Greet’ area.
While the fields may still be muddy beyond the farm gates, behind the scenes the team has been hard at work ensuring that half term visits remain relatively dry with maximum fun. New undercover animal meet and greets, indoor animal handling sessions and spacious indoor play areas mean families can enjoy a full day on the farm whatever the weather decides to do.
At the heart of this February’s celebrations is the farm’s newly opened indoor chick experience. The ‘Chick Cheep and Greet’ area gives guests the chance to meet fluffy day-
old chicks up close and, if they time it just right, even witness the magical moment of chicks hatching in the farm’s working incubators.
Visitors will also be able to meet some of the farm’s first babies of the year, with young lambs finding their feet and playful calves enjoying plenty of attention from keepers and guests alike.
On Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th February, guests can also meet Farmer Ben, founder of Mini Meadows Farm. What began as a small chicken breeding venture has grown into the much-loved family farm it is today, and Ben who remains as passionate as ever about poultry, will be on hand to educate the public about the latest seasonal arrivals at the farm.
“We’ve had such a wet start to the year that we really wanted to make sure families could still enjoy everything Mini Meadows has to offer without worrying about the weather,” said Mr Barraclough. “Spring is one of the most special times on the farm, seeing chicks hatch out never gets old no matter how many times you see it, but we appreciate that for many of our guests it may be the first time they have seen day old chicks. It’s lovely to be able to invite people in to share those moments with us, we can’t wait!”
With the sound of cheeping chicks and plenty of indoor space to play and explore, Mini Meadows Farm is ready to bring a little early spring sunshine to February Half Term.
