Black-tie Christmas open mic night to bring festive cheer to Great Brington pub

A special Christmas Edition Open Mic Night is coming to The Althorp Coaching Inn in Great Brington on Saturday 27th December 2025, offering an afternoon of live performances, festive fun and a rare black-tie dress code to add a touch of seasonal glamour.
The event is a one-off celebration, departing from the venue’s usual monthly open mic, which typically takes place on the first Tuesday of each month. For Christmas, organisers are doing things differently, shifting to a Saturday and beginning much earlier, with performances starting at 4pm instead of the usual evening slot.
Local singers, musicians, poets and performers of all kinds are invited to take to the stage, while residents from across Northamptonshire are encouraged to come along and enjoy an afternoon of live entertainment in one of the county's most characterful village pubs.
Adding to the sense of occasion, guests are asked to dress in black tie, giving the festive afternoon a unique atmosphere not often seen at open mic events.

The Christmas Open Mic Night is free to attend, and both seasoned performers and first-timers are welcome. Organiser George Welsford hopes the event will bring the local community together during the holiday period.
He said: “Our regular open mic nights always bring in a warm, supportive crowd, but this Christmas edition is going to be something really special. We’re giving it a more elegant feel this year with the black-tie theme and the earlier start time - a perfect way to enjoy the season with friends, neighbours and great live music.”
The Althorp Coaching Inn will be open throughout the event for drinks and food, making it an ideal festive gathering for families, performers and visitors alike.
