Chacombe Park care home, in Northamptonshire was full of animal mischief this week when a pair of alpacas came to visit the home.

Residents at Chacombe Park Care Home were pleasantly surprised to see their new furry friends roaming around the home, popping into bedrooms and taking lunch with them in the dining room.

General Manager Shaju Paul said: “Our residents have really enjoyed their unusual visitors today. We knew that having the alpacas here would be a bit of fun for all our residents, especially as some find it difficult to go on many outings in our minibus. We are always looking for new activities for the residents and today we have seen the seen the enjoyment and the therapeutic influence animals can have on people.”

Resident Peggy was very excited by Fred and George the alpacas: “I’ve never been this close to such an unusual animal; their fur is so soft and they are very gentle natured. It’s been a great experience and I feel privileged to have been involved.”
