A government-funded initiative providing free meals, activities, and childcare during school holidays for children from low-income families, delivered by Northampton’s leading health and fitness provider has welcomed over 2,800 children and young people through its doors in 2025.

As a health and wellbeing trust, Trilogy Active operates Cripps Recreation Centre, Danes Camp, Duston Sports Centre, Lings Forum, The Mounts Baths and the Forum Cinema in Northampton, Belper Leisure Centre in Derbyshire and Berzerk Active Play Centres in Northampton, Derby and Birmingham and delivers the Holiday Activities and Food Programme in partnership with Northamptonshire Sport and the Amber Valley School Sports Partnership.

“We are delighted to have welcomed over 2,800 children and young people into our centres across 2025 as part of our commitment to delivering the HAF programme.” said John Fletcher, Managing Director of Trilogy Active.

HAF ensures that disadvantaged children, young people and families have access to healthy food and enriching activities throughout their school holidays. To qualify a family needs to receive benefits related free school meals.

“For the whole of 2025, we received over £53,000 funding to deliver this much valued HAF work.” John Fletcher continued.

“That meant that across our centres at Lings Forum, Duston Sports Centre, Berzerk Active Play and Belper Leisure Centre we were able to empower children and young people to be more active during the school holidays, take part in engaging and enriching activities and to be safe and not isolated.”

Over the twelve months of 2025, over 40 days of activities were delivered across summer, autumn and winter school holidays by Trilogy Active.

Since 2022, the HAF programme has provided 15.6 million HAF days to children and young people in the UK.

Across the 2023 to 2024 academic year, almost 5 million HAF days were provided during winter, Easter, and summer delivery.
