Healing Muscles & Co, located in Abington Avenue, was founded by Kylie Mellors in October 2022, and she has helped people relieve their stress, pain and muscle problems through massage and skin treatments ever since.
Kylie qualified in this industry in 2019 before the pandemic but opted for a corporate career in the motor industry.

“My partner encouraged me to do massage and he supported me financially when I quit my job a month before starting the business.”
After renting rooms in different locations across Northampton, it was not until a year after launching that Kylie opened her current clinic space in Abington.
When asked to summarise what she offers, the founder said: “My main treatment is pain management and I’m qualified in sports massage. I help anyone with injuries and pain that need muscle relief.

Her proudest and most rewarding achievement is the number of returning customers to Healing Muscles & Co.
Kylie has only lived in the UK for seven years after moving with her parents and sister from South Africa. She first relocated to Milton Keynes and completed her studies there, and did not move to Northampton until just before she launched the business.
“It was the scariest time,” she said. “I knew no one, had no family or friends here, and relied on ads, leaflets and cold calls.”

Hide AdIt thankfully all paid off and Kylie is now preparing to expand into Milton Keynes, alongside Lauren Morrison from The Skin Haus who she currently shares her Abington clinic with.
The new location will open on July 1 and Kylie will split her time between the two. Tuesdays and Wednesdays will be spent in Milton Keynes, and the rest of the week in Northampton.
One challenge Kylie encountered in Northampton is that when she hoped to hire another therapist, her customers insisted that she carried out the treatment as she had built personal relationships with them.
“My goal is to have a rehab centre and train others to my level, so people can visit anyone for treatment,” said Kylie.
