Unique hotel showcasing quality food, art and wellness proud to have seen ‘exciting period of growth’
A unique private residence hotel, centred on showcasing quality food, art and wellness, is proud to have seen an “exciting period of growth” since its launch a year ago.
Upper Farm Private Residence Hotel, located in High Street North in Tiffield, opened in February 2025. The team has since developed a distinctive offering, working with regional suppliers to utilise exceptional local produce and create memorable experiences for residents and private dining guests.
Co-founders Julian Edwards and Bruna Brambilla take pride in creating and celebrating a fusion of the English countryside and Brazilian culture.
Julian has owned Upper Farm for more than 19 years and he and Bruna formerly ran entertainment hospitality businesses in London. Towards the end of 2024, Julian suggested they leave the capital and return to Upper Farm to turn it into something special – by combining what they achieved in London with the English countryside.

It was on February 28 last year when Upper Farm Private Residence Hotel opened to the public, having taken inspiration from Julian and Bruna’s travels abroad with the aim of making farm to table dining more prevalent in the UK.
“We are perfectly situated to bring this concept to England,” Julian told the Chronicle & Echo. “This is an oasis and feels like a holiday. People can let the weight of the world dissipate from them, through wellness, food, wine and dining experiences.”
Art, kitchen and wellness are the three pillars of the offering, with artwork both inside the properties and around the grounds in the form of sculptures.
“The kitchen is a huge part of what we do,” said Julian. “We offer glorious long breakfasts and brunches made with locally sourced produce. The jams are made from the plums in our orchard, and the honey comes from the field next to us. This is key to what we do.

“Outside of that we have our artisan pizza menu and Bruna makes the bases from scratch. Our barbecue offering is one of our most popular dining experiences, featuring marinated meats bringing out Bruna’s Brazilian culture. Outside of that we also have the Upper Farm classics, like bourguignon and pies.”
The wellness offering includes fully equipped gyms, personal trainers, pilates, yoga and treatment rooms for massage and sound healing.
Julian continued: “We’re mostly catered to residential guests but we launched our supper clubs in the clubhouse for non-resident guests. People typically stay for two nights but we take week-long bookings during the holidays.
“Last year we reached about 95 percent occupancy and there’s seven acres of land, including meticulously kept parkland. We’re surrounded by nature, there are bikes to use and you can go kayaking on the Grand Union Canal. It’s about embracing the best of what this side of Northamptonshire has to offer.”

Julian explained that the business is “small by design” as he and Bruna are so actively involved in people’s stays. They hope to offer a “relaxed sense of community” and they care deeply about the experience on offer, which includes them doing all the cooking and hand-selecting wines.
Julian and Bruna encourage people to come along and enjoy their supper club programme, which takes inspiration from 1930s jazz clubs and all music is played on vinyl from their extensive collection. It is a “candle-lit, social and warm environment”.
“We don’t have the conformity of a traditional hotel, it’s a very personal experience,” said Julian. “We’d like to be growing all of our own vegetables and herbs so we’re truly organic. We want it to be picked on a daily basis and served on the plates.”
Julian and Bruna look forward to revealing more exciting events they have planned throughout 2026, as well as welcoming new and returning guests to Upper Farm.
