"He is a strong believer of championing homemade products from our amazing craftsman and has been selling them to all his customers over his many shops and is proud to tell his customers they are made right here in England.

"He is offering the masks to workers at factories including Loakes, Trickers, Church, Barker and NPS as well as any more you could think of!"

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has encouraged those who cannot work from home to talk to their employer about returning to work, including the manufacturing industry.

However, people are recommended to wear a face-covering when in crowded places or when it is difficult stay 2m apart.

Peter wants to solve that issue for shoe factory workers by providing two free masks each, one for personal use and one for use while at work.

For each purchase, the firm will donate to Marie Curie, which it has been supporting throughout the coronavirus crisis as many cancer patients have had their treatment postponed or cancelled.

Anybody who would like masks can order them at www.peters.shoes, using a special discount code NHSHOE to make them free of charge.

Alternatively email Peter at [email protected] or call him on 07950 298812.
