Three Morrisons warehouses in Pineham have been hit by outbreaks of Covid.

One employee, who got in touch with this newspaper, said: "The issue is from staff not wearing masks correctly. Management are very good at enforcing rules but staff continue anyway - bus stops at Swan Valley and Pineham are horrendous.

"All the sites on this estate start and finish at the same time and the crowds at the bus stops are huge. It’s all the same buses and there’s at least 40-50 people at a time not wearing masks. Mixing employees from all the sites from the estate. Any company on this estate now will have many cases."

In response to questions on how many cases were in each warehouse and how the company aimed to prevent the spread, a Morrisons spokeswoman said: "We have been very proactive in our approach to these public bus stops. We are speaking regularly to all of the parties involved in managing them to ensure our colleagues are able to use them safely.

"We are continuing to communicate with our colleagues directly to advise them to wear face coverings and our senior management team are actively managing the bus stops themselves to remind people to maintain a social distance."

The spokeswoman would not comment on how many cases there had been.

Public Health Northamptonshire confirmed an outbreak is defined by the Government as more than two cases linked by time and place within the last 28 days.
