The Lewis Foundation: Meet business that has played hugely important role in gala ball and NGH garden project
Meet the generous business that has played a hugely important role in The Lewis Foundation’s annual gala ball and garden project at Northampton General Hospital.
April marked a decade of Lorraine and Lee Lewis’ dedication to bringing comfort, dignity and human connection to adult cancer patients across the region through free gift packs and support visits.
Founded in 2016, The Lewis Foundation now hand-delivers more than 2,000 free gift packs every month to patients receiving treatment at 17 hospitals across the Midlands, including Northampton General Hospital.
Lorraine and Lee look forward to hosting their fourth annual gala and this year’s theme is masquerade, made even more special by the fact the charity is celebrating its decade anniversary.

The aim of the event at the stunning Fawsley Hall Hotel & Spa on November 14 is to raise much-needed funds towards their vision of no one going through cancer alone.
If you purchase a ticket before the sale ends soon, you will be in for a glamorous evening starting with a cocktail and sparkling wine drinks reception accompanied by canapes.
There will be a delicious three-course meal paired with fine wine, games, a live auction and raffle, heartfelt stories from The Lewis Foundation team and the patients they support, and co-founder Lee will end the night with an uplifting DJ set.
There are many more surprises in store to mark 10 years of The Lewis Foundation, and you can secure your spot at the gala ball for £150 per person. There is also the option to purchase a table of 10, and all funds raised will go directly to the work of the charity.
‘The charity offers such a sense of comfort to people at a really hard time in their lives’
Rockleigh Ltd is The Lewis Foundation’s ‘10 years of kindness anniversary partner’ and their support is playing a hugely important role in this year’s gala ball.
Business director Renee Watters described Rockleigh Ltd as an arboricultural company specialising in tree surgery, but offering so much more than that. They focus on commercial over domestic work to be a one stop shop for other businesses.
Rockleigh is proud to take everything off the hands of customers to make their lives easier, including ecology checks and planning applications for arboricultural projects.
The Oundle-based business, which has covered jobs between Brighton all the way up to the Pennines, will celebrate its impressive decade anniversary at the start of December.
It was around 18 months ago when Rockleigh first started supporting The Lewis Foundation, when Lorraine and Renee met at an award event and they hit it off from the get go.
“The Lewis Foundation offers such a sense of comfort to people at a really hard time in their lives,” Renee told this newspaper. “Any act of kindness is so welcome and the charity epitomises that. They offer support, care and this allows people to have a small moment of happiness.”
As well as sponsoring the charity’s flagship annual event, Rockleigh have supported the Talbot Butler Garden Project at Northampton General Hospital. The Lewis Foundation and Rockleigh have worked together to bring the garden back to life, to create a welcoming and peaceful space for patients to enjoy.
Renee continued: “Being a tree surgery company, it’s hard for us to directly get involved in charities. We volunteer in our area of expertise and help children get into careers, so this was really out of the box and the project has taken on a life of its own.”
Like they have committed to their ongoing support of the gala ball, having been sponsors last year as well as for 2026, Rockleigh would love to be involved in any future hospital garden projects if The Lewis Foundation does anything similar again.
As the proud media partner of this year’s 10-year anniversary gala ball, the Chronicle & Echo looks forward to continuing to count down to the event with weekly stories and spotlighting the businesses who are helping to make the work of this vital charity possible.
