Popular independent coffee chain opens second drive-thru in Northampton as firm goes from strength to strength
A popular independent coffee shop chain has opened a second drive-thru in Northampton as the firm goes from strength to strength.
Bewiched Coffee has opened the doors at its newest drive-thru in The Causeway, Billing, next to Billing Aquadrome and opposite Billing Garden Village.
The cafe has indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a drive-thru lane, which the company believes offers the “freshest, highest-quality coffee available through a drive-thru lane anywhere in the UK”.
The new outlet will join Subway and Greggs on the relatively new retail site, adjacent to the Oriental Paradise Chinese Restaurant.

As well as coffee roasted locally for Bewiched, the chain, which also has a drive-thru branch in Moulton Park and a walk-in shop in Northampton’s Grosvenor Centre, offers thick milkshakes, iced coffee, matcha, baked goods and a variety of hot and cold food.
Matt Fountain, founder of Bewiched Coffee, said: “Freshly roasted coffee, delivered by brilliant teams — you just cannot beat it. Everyone in our business works so hard to deliver our vision, and I’m determined that any scale the business reaches will only improve that, never impede it.”
Bewiched first launched 16 years ago, and although it has continued to grow, it remains “proudly independent”, with no outside shareholders and the founding team in control of the brand’s direction. According to the company, the only exception is a long-standing business to business franchise partnership with the Heart of England Co-operative Society, with a shared vision, values and ambitions that allows Bewiched to extend its reach.
Matt previously said the concept for Bewiched was inspired by seeing people buy coffee from chains such as Costa Coffee before visiting separate bakeries for food.

He said: “We wanted to offer great coffee and great sandwiches under one roof. Getting into this market when you are competing against the monoliths of the coffee sector is very tough, but we think we can elevate the experience to new levels.”
The founder says there is a further three to five sites in the pipeline for the remainder of 2026, with new locations under negotiation across the region.
Alongside the new openings, Bewiched will also be rolling out the enhanced new refit look across its existing stores.
