It is never nice to see a business depart our town and we have so far seen a total of seven closures. Some have left premises empty and others have made way for new additions.
Despite saying goodbye to big names like Steffans in the town centre and Cineworld in Sixfields, seven businesses have opened their doors for the Northampton community to enjoy.
Many business owners have already expressed their worry about what lies ahead in 2025, so being a loyal customer to your favourite businesses has never been more important.
Take a look at the businesses that have already opened and closed in Northampton in the first three months of 2025…

13. OPENING – Lyss & Vay Candle Co.
Lyss & Vay Candle Co. offers cruelty-free and luxury soy candles, hand poured with love in Northamptonshire. Having launched the business in 2020, Janene Francis decided now was the right time to take the next step. Lyss & Vay opened in the former Love Your Presence store in St Leonard’s Road on March 1, in the hope of developing a new wellness hub. Photo: Lyss & Vay Candle Co.

14. OPENING – V7 Fish & Grill Bar
Husband and wife duo Selina Lawrence-Masih and Sukhrat Masih opened V7 Fish & Grill Bar in Wilks Walk, Grange Park on March 7. The pair took over the former Tommy’s Fish Bar, which shut at the end of February, in the hope of offering a modern take on a traditional fish and chip shop – with a variety of specials and extras on their menu. 15. CLOSURE – Feather Robins Gifts
Feather Robins Gifts opened in Kent Road, St Crispin Retail Village in September 2022, in the hope of becoming a one stop shop for all customers’ gifting needs. A year and eight months on from launching, Lindsey opened a second store in Weston Favell Shopping Centre. Sadly, she is set to close her initial Duston location on March 30 due to low footfall.
