Here’s how much a landlord could make per year

A building in a popular part of Northampton town centre set to be turned into 13 flats has been put up for sale at £2.2 million.

Plans were approved in December 2021 to convert the former Imperial Chinese restaurant and part of Sazerac nightclub in St Giles Street into 13 flats.

The proposed flats have now gone up for sale for a whopping £2.2 million.

The sales advert reads: “Located in the heart of Northampton, off the quintessential St. Giles Street is this fantastic business opportunity to acquire thirteen apartments, comprising of 10 one-bedroom and three-studio apartments, with the freehold.

"Set over three floors, the development offers stylish, contemporary living, set in a beautiful Victorian building, blending the two together seamlessly.

"These apartments would expect to achieve an annual income of over £147,000, based on achieving over £750 per calendar month for the studio apartments and £1,000 per calendar month for the one bedroom apartments.“Due to be ready for completion January 2023.”

No extensions to the buildings will be made, instead they will just be refurbished from within, according to the applicant.

On approving the plans, WNC said: "The proposed development represents an acceptable land use and would not have a significant adverse impact upon the character and appearance of the conservation area."
