A Northamptonshire photographer said he has been inundated with requests for doorstep family portraits during the coronavirus lockdown.

Tom Stilgoe launched his new photography offer, called 'simplify your life', to overcome the halt in business due to the Covid-19 crisis.

"Lockdown has been incredibly hard for some people, but it has also created some very rewarding moments," the 33-year-old photographer from Daventry said.

Photographer Tom Stilgoe has been keeping busy during the coronavirus lockdown by taking people's portraits on their front doors

"The opportunity to spend this much quality time with your family and loved ones may never present itself again when the lockdown is lifted, and front door portraits perfectly encapsulate this feeling.

"My aim is to capture the moment with your family, so whether you want to dress up, dress down, use props or simply be you, these photos will be a reminder of this time.”

Tom said the idea came to him when asked to take some photos for a friend’s engagement during the lockdown without breaking social distancing rules a few weeks ago.

So he suggested taking their photo on their front door as part of his daily exercise while standing at least two meters away.

Since then, more and more people have been requesting a portrait, with clients getting creative with props or involving their pets.

Scott Fowler, one of Tom’s clients, said: “Tom’s idea is fantastic. We would never have been able to afford a professional photoshoot of our family and this way our home gets to feature in the pictures too, which wouldn’t have happened if we had just gone along to a studio.

"Tom is professional, friendly and affordable - we couldn’t recommend highly enough.”

Tom can offer this service to anyone living in the Daventry town area as he cycles to all of his bookings.

All health and safety measures are put in place prior to arriving as the wellbeing of clients is his utmost priority.
