When restrictions are lifted, customers can then book an appointment to come in to pick the ring they want, with a reservation at Nuovo Restaurant on Abington Street afterwards included.

The £100 'sample' rings can swapped back in with Steffans and have the price taken off the real ring's cost.

Steffan's Wesley Suter said: "There's not enough love going round at the moment and we don't want to put up barriers to people's engagements.

"We know that popping the questions and picking out the ring can be a bit of a day out for some couples and we want them to know they can still look forward to that experience."
