Northampton heating installer shortlisted for national renewables award

A Northampton renewables installer has been shortlisted for a major national industry award.

George Tiefenthaler, of POP Heating and Renewables, is one of just six finalists in the Best Renewables Installer category at the Heating Installer Awards 2026.

George secured his place after completing a project at a six-bedroom home featuring a rehabilitation swimming pool. He installed a water source heat pump powered by energy drawn from a brook running through the property’s garden.

The system was also designed to work alongside solar panels and battery storage to improve efficiency and reduce energy costs.

George said the project involved extensive planning and problem-solving but that the homeowner now has “a simple, easy-to-use system”.

Public voting is now open and closes on May 28, 2026. Winners will be announced on June 24 at InstallerSHOW at the NEC Birmingham.
