Northampton business raises more than £1,400 during #ShareTheBear campaign

Northampton-based logistics recruitment agency More Driver Solutions’ (MDS) recent #ShareTheBear campaign has been a great success, raising more than £1,400 for international development organisation Transaid.

The #ShareTheBear charity drive, recently launched on social media, features furry bears wearing MDS branded uniforms. Big-hearted MDS have shared 500 branded bears with its clients, who have been invited to give their bear a name and share pictures on social media. The winning name would become the official name for MDS’ bear mascot, being featured in future campaigns.

For each photo shared via LinkedIn with the #ShareTheBear hashtag, MDS pledged to make a £5 donation to the company’s chosen charity, Transaid, which aims to transform lives through safe, available, and sustainable transport. The winning name was Franklin, chosen by KGT Logistics.

MDS director Emily Cooper said: “Thank you to our clients for so zealously getting behind the #ShareTheBear campaign. We’ve raised over £1,400, which is hugely impressive and we’re so thankful to work with such incredible clients across the logistics sector.”

Fellow MDS director Nicola Tilley added: “After hearing about Transaid and all their hard work at the Motor Transport Awards, we wanted to do something fun to support the charity and raise awareness of its great work.”

Transaid is a worldwide charity that work with international partners and governments to solve transport challenges in sub-Saharan Africa, such as improving road safety and strengthening health supply chains.

Florence Bearman, head of fundraising at Transaid, welcomed the campaign and the donation: “Thank you to MDS and their clients for being part of #ShareTheBear. We’re so pleased with the money raised, which will go to furthering our important work improving road safety, increasing access to healthcare and transforming lives; as well as the awareness this has brought to our cause.”
