New supermarket opens on busy Northampton street as sister business to popular bar and restaurant
A new supermarket has opened on a busy Northampton street, which is the sister business to a popular bar and restaurant.
Mr Fox Bazaar opened on Wellingborough Road at the end of February and is located next door to Tuck In Restaurant, which reopened following three months of internal transformation works in April 2024.
The two are sister businesses and international supermarket Mr Fox Bazaar is owned and run by Mahfuz Tilki, who began welcoming the public on February 25.
A member of the team explained that with similar businesses on Kettering Road and in other parts of Northampton, Mahfuz hoped to fill a gap in the market on Wellingborough Road.

Tuck In is run by Mahfuz’s brother Mehmet Tilki and they hope that with a long-standing customer base of people from diverse cultures, they will choose to support Mr Fox Bazaar now it is open too.
The business is stocked with a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables, dried goods, dairy products and daily essentials, as well as having a bakery and butchery. They are proud to offer an affordable market with daily promotions and discounts.
The building work has been completed over the past six months to get Mr Fox Bazaar ready to open, and people are said to have been “delighted” with this addition to Wellingborough Road.
There were many smiles on faces as balloons were handed out to children with their families on the opening day, and they proceeded to take a look inside at what is now available on their doorstep.

The team believes the variety on offer means residents can do their weekly food shopping at Mr Fox Bazaar without visiting other businesses, as they provide everything under one roof as a family-run venture.
The Northampton community is urged to get behind independent businesses during 2026 to keep them alive, as this family has chosen to invest in a place and service that they believe benefits locals.
They look forward to seeing where this journey takes them, while maintaining a good standard of fresh produce and taking pride in supporting local suppliers wherever possible.
