A national suit retailers has permanently closed its branch in Northampton town centre.

Moss Bros on Abington Street reportedly shut its doors for the last time on December 22 - even before the announcement of the Tier 4 lockdown for Northamptonshire the next day.

The closure means the loss of approximately 12 jobs and now stands as another of the high street's largest units left empty.

The chain retailers has been contacted for comment about the decision.

It comes after the Chronicle & Echo reported last week that the town centre saw approximately 25 businesses close in 2020 - with Moss Bros now added to that total.

And it comes in the same week stationery store Colemans of Northampton on St Giles Street has announced it is closing down after 44 years.
