More than 100 jobs ‘work coach’ jobs available at job centres across Northamptonshire

A new recruitment campaign to employ more work coaches in job centres has reached Northamptonshire.

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has today (December 2) opened recruitment for 174 roles in jobs centres across Northamptonshire and Leicestershire.

Work coach positions will be available at the job centres in Northampton, Corby, Kettering, Rushden, Wellingborough and Daventry.

The role, which has a listed salary of between £20,001 and £30,000, includes helping people to improve their CVs, interview and job search skills, as well as offering structured support for those looking for work.

Mims Davies MP, Minister for Employment said: “Any work coach will tell you just how rewarding their job is.

“Helping someone back into work is really fulfilling and knowing the positive difference you’ve made to someone’s life is a real boost.

“If you’re looking for a new challenge and want to support your community, put yourself forward for what is a crucial role at the forefront of the UK’s economic recovery.”

This latest drive on recruitment is part of the DWPs campaign to employ 9,000 additional work coaches by March 2021.

The initial phase saw 4,500 new work coaches placed in job centres across the country, in response to the pandemic.

As part of the application process, applicants have to choose the top five locations in which they could work.

Roles will then be allocated across the job centres in the Northamptonshire and Leicestershire region.

Applications are open until next Wednesday (December 9), as the DWP hopes to fill vacancies between January and March next year.
