Meet the founder of ‘The Little Cake Box Shed’ now open from Fridays to Sundays every week in Northampton
Meet the founder of The Little Cake Box Shed, which is now open from Fridays to Sundays every week in Northampton.
This venture was launched by Faye Hynes on February 27 and customers can enjoy freshly baked treats from the cake shed outside 67 Firsview Drive in Duston.
It is open from 3pm until 6pm on Fridays, 2pm until 6pm on Saturdays, and 11am until 5pm on Sundays, and is a new strand of The Little Cake Box which Faye founded in July 2024.
Faye previously worked at Beckworth Emporium but knew she wanted to launch something of her own. After her parents agreed to convert their garage into a kitchen and following the breakdown of an eight-year relationship, Faye knew it was time to take the leap.

Until now, The Little Cake Box’s focus has been on attending events and stocking venues with fresh and homemade sweet treats. Faye also offers celebration cakes and has a self-serve unit at Whites of Earls Barton, stocked with tray bakes and cakes.
“I’ve got a burning passion inside,” said Faye. “I want to showcase what I can do, elevate my offering, and make occasions more special for people.”
The Little Cake Box is praised for the variety on offer and catering to people’s requests. Faye is willing to give things a go, especially as she enjoys the freedom and creativity of baking.
When asked what she believes sets her business apart, Faye said: “Everything is homemade by one person. They are all my ideas, and my passion and love goes into these cakes. People have gone nuts for my cookie pies. They are topped with all sorts and are an indulgent treat.”

Faye has been toying with the idea of launching a cake shed since before Christmas and as she does not currently stock anywhere in Duston, the founder knew The Little Cake Box Shed was the perfect way to bring the business closer to her home kitchen.
The self service honesty box gives visitors a wide choice of bakes, and they can then pay by cash or scan the QR code to pay by card.
As well as pushing The Little Cake Box Shed and her cabinet at Whites of Earls Barton, Faye looks forward to increasing the variety of what she offers even further – with the long-term vision of launching her own shop.
