Long-standing and family-run hair salon makes the move to the heart of Northampton town centre
A long-standing and family-run hair salon has made the move to the heart of Northampton town centre after 15 years in its previous location.
Finn Kelly-Jeans and his husband Russell run Finn & Co., a premium hair salon that has been delivering bespoke and classic work since its launch in 2007.
Finn is proud to have created a fun environment where the team listens, cares and tries to do their best for all clients who walk through the door.
Before launching this business venture 18 years ago, Finn was a Toni & Guy salon franchisee and took the leap away from that path when he was confident he could make a success on his own.

Finn & Co. began in St Giles’ Street for three years and then moved to St Giles’ Square for 15 years. Now, the team have moved back to their roots in St Giles’ Street.
“Covid changed the whole dynamic of hairdressing,” Finn told the Chronicle & Echo. “It was the right time for us as a business to rightsize as our previous building was huge. This is smaller, cosy and personable.”
The salon opened its doors at the end of October and Finn admitted that they now realise how busy they are because they are operating in a smaller space.
“Our clients love it,” said Finn. “We were very transparent and honest about the changes, and they were well on board with why we were doing it. They were absolutely thrilled for us.

“We listen to what people like and don’t like. The key to being a small and independent business is being nimble.”
It is their hands-on approach and ability to adapt after taking feedback on board which Finn believes sets his salon apart from others operating across Northampton and beyond.
Looking to the future of Finn & Co. in its new location, the team hopes to maintain continuity and sustainability – by creating a warm, cosy and intimate space for clients to relax and enjoy premium hair treatments.
