While some of these were brand new additions, others moved to different locations and left behind where they previously traded in the town.
Supporting Northampton’s businesses has never been more important and we should all continue to do so in 2025 – especially to keep these newbies going strong.

33. MenKind – October 2024
It was back in February 2023 when the Grosvenor Centre suffered the loss of two national retailers in quick succession – and one of those was gift and gadget store MenKind. However, the business has now reopened on the ground floor of the shopping centre and is available once again for all your quirky gifting needs. Photo: National World

34. Subway – November 2024
Global sandwich franchise Subway reopened near the Bus Station in The Parade following an extensive refurbishment. The fast food chain was previously open in this location before it shut for an extended period of time, but it has now returned to Northampton town centre and boasts a vibrant and modern interior. 35. The King Billy – November 2024
Iconic venue The King Billy Rock Bar, located in Commercial Street, shut down in October under landlady Rachel Nash – who had been in charge for two years. However, it was not long until the rock bar was taken over by new management and they held their opening weekend on the last weekend of November. Photo: The King Billy

36. Smoothies To Go – November 2024
Food and beverage tenant Smoothies To Go was one of the final additions to the Grosvenor Shopping Centre at the heart of the town centre in 2024. They signed a seven-year lease on a 850 square foot unit in Wood Street, close to Primark, and opened to the public in November. Photo: National World
