Supporting Northampton’s businesses has never been more important and we should all continue to do so in 2025 – especially to keep these newbies going strong.

17. Grand Cafe – May 2024
Grand Cafe opened in the former Nationwide building on the corner of Drapery and Mercer’s Row back in May. The building had been empty since 2019, following Nationwide’s relocation to Abington Street after more than two decades at the site. This was a welcome addition to the town centre, founded by husband and wife Fatmir and Violeta Lekgegaj. Photo: Kirsty Edmonds

18. Beckets Pavilion Café – May 2024
Businessman Iain Hill opened Beckets Pavilion Café in mid-May after refurbishing the derelict pavilion in Becket’s Park. The business received a brilliant public response and it has had a positive impact on how the community is able to enjoy the green space. People had been waiting for this transformation for a long while. Photo: Logan MacLeod

19. The Food Warehouse – May 2024
Iceland Foods opened its new The Food Warehouse store in St Peter’s Way Retail Park in May, which created 11 jobs. To celebrate the grand opening, £1,000 worth of store vouchers were given out to the first 100 customers in the queue. 20. Oli’s Barber Shop – May 2024
Oli’s Barber Shop moved to a bigger unit in the Grosvenor Centre back in May, in the hope of increasing the number of services on offer. The business opened in its downstairs unit, close to the former BHS shop, back in 2018 and founder Luti Noka made the decision to relocate to an upstairs unit near Costa in May this year.
