It’s no secret that healthcare has radically transformed a lot over the years, with tech innovation driving forward massive improvements.

Technology really has had a huge impact on healthcare overall. If you compare medical care right now to what it was like over 100 years ago there’s obviously a massive change. But that same concept can be applied to 20 years ago, back in 2000.

Technology is able to advance so quickly and there are always new things being created and discovered. This has helped so many industries to benefit, but healthcare is perhaps the one where we personally see such an amazing change. Now there are huge CT scanners which can take images of the whole body from various angles and although this is something that we take for granted now, it is actually a very important piece of tech. There are also much safer practices for X-ray systems as well. X-rays are now far less harmful, and the results are also instant. A lot of this boils down to various investments, such as the strategic investments made by the Tej Kohli Foundation.

Anaesthesia

During certain procedures, patients are given an anaesthetic which helps them to numb any pain. Sometimes this can be local, as this means that the patient can still feel other parts of their body, or a general anaesthetic, which allows patients to be fully under sedation for the entire procedure.

This means that people are now much more comfortable having to undergo surgical procedures.

Medical research

The field of medical research has really changed the world of healthcare in so many ways. When you look at a century ago, you will see that we had very limited research when compared to now.

The scary thing is that medical professionals thought that they knew a lot back then, but now there are so many cures for diseases, cures that didn’t even exist even just a few short years ago.

There was a time where if you had cancer then it was almost guaranteed that you would die. Now more and more people are surviving as each day passes, and some are even completely cured.

The key to all of this has been research. Medical research has meant that doctors can now spot the earlier signs of cancer and the chances of survival are much higher than they once were. On top of this, treatments have developed so much, and this has meant that even more progress has been made overall.

Tech, and specifically technology research, has a huge part to play, not just in this industry but in so many industries across the world.
