The food outlets are two of the firms due to move into a new development now being built on Brackmills Industrial Estate.

The development, whose confirmed occupiers also include Screwfix and HSS, comes as good news to Brackmills employees – who have been asking for amenities on the industrial estate for several years.

Sara Homer, executive chair of Brackmills Business Improvement District (BID), said: “We have run a series of employee workshops in companies across the estate, asking staff what they value about Brackmills and what is missing.

"The overriding request was for amenities – somewhere to go at lunchtime, to pick up a snack or to meet friends during break times. We are delighted to see this development get underway, something that will most certainly strengthen this already thriving estate.”

Tungsten Business Park, which is being developed by Tungsten Properties is now under construction and is scheduled to be completed in early 2017.

Councillor Tim Hadland said: “Brackmills is one of Northampton’s premier centres of industry, with companies employing thousands of people. That makes it the size of a small town, so it’s entirely appropriate that there should be adequate facilities."

“Northampton is thriving, our town is a hive of activity, and the borough council is open to approaches from any business looking to locate here. I’m sure the firms on Brackmills will be delighted with this new addition to the amenities they enjoy, which I have no doubt will prove extremely popular.”

The Tungsten development is a 3.5 acre development located between Caswell Road and Gowerton Road, with buildings totalling 65,200 sq ft. Among the buildings still available is Unit 14 which will provide a detached industrial/ warehouse building of 23,000 sq ft.

Richard Baker, Director at Prop-Search and a director of Brackmills BID, added: “There has been great demand for units on this new development, with a significant amount of the available space already under offer we also have a lot of interest in those still left. We are delighted that the scheme will provide much needed amenities for Brackmills.”
